In the 1970s, speculation appeared on the borders of Arlington Valley. Subdivisions such as Phoenix Valley West and Arlington Farms were created from Sections .. and 16 and 21, respectively, on Township 1 South Range 5 West. Though a few former El Paso Gas Company employees moved into Arlington Farms, little development has occurred in Phoenix Valley West. However, this may change. Though Buckeye's Municipal Planning Area stops at the Hassayampa River, the community of Tonopah is investigating incorporation, and Arlington sitting between the two might find itself a prize in a contest for annexation.
