The mountains and hills in the area around Arlington, are primarily composed primarily of Precambrian granites, schists, and gneisses and late Mesozoic and Cenozoic sedimentary rocks, granites, and volcanic flows. The appearance of igneous scatter, the remnants of the Laramide orogeny when the Mogollon Rim thrusted upwards spewing lava and rock between the 32nd and 35th parallels (McNamee, 10; East Central Phoenix, 4). | ![]() |
